External auditor’s opinion regarding the fairness of presentation of specific financial statement items.A piecemeal opinion is not permitted anymore under generally accepted auditing standards[GAAS].It was previously used in some cases where a disclaimer or adverse opinion was involved on the financial statements as a whole.
