a committee in a legislature that provides oversight in the preparation of the government budget.Depending on the particular committee，it may directly write the budget，receive expenditure estimates from government agencies and/or draft legislation implementing the budgetgroup，usually made up of top management and the chief financial officer，that reviews and approves，or makes appropriate adjustments to the budgets submitted from operational managers.
